Who Not To Listen To

Why you probably are still trying to learn marketing. It's not you. It's who you're learning from.

The Problem Isn't You

Somewhere in your office is a shelf that cost you six figures.

Courses. Books. Event recordings. Mastermind notes. A decade of marketing education, maybe two.

And you are still trying to learn marketing.

Read that sentence again, because the word doing the work is still. Nobody spends ten years still learning to drive. Ten years in, you either drive or you found out you never needed to. Marketing is the one skill where intelligent, accomplished operators stay enrolled forever.

Why?

Here's the answer nobody selling you education will give you. It's not you. It's who you're learning from.

Marketing has a scoreboard. Traffic. Conversions. Split tests. Either strangers bought or they didn't. Everything worth knowing about marketing lives on that scoreboard, and it cannot be faked, argued with, or bought.

Almost nobody teaching marketing has ever had to face it.

There's a name for what they're selling instead: unaccountable expertise. People claiming to know marketing without having to prove, through traffic, conversions, and split tests, that they can make a stranger buy.

It comes in four forms. I'm going to name all four. At least two of them will sting, because you've paid for at least one and probably liked them.

That's fine. I'd rather sting you than keep watching what they're doing to you.

Let's start with the most respectable of the four.
